Civic Education Days
Last week, volunteers Marcella, Elisa, and Giulia participated in an event organized by the schools of the “Carrara e Paesi a monte” Comprehensive Institute for Civic Education Days.
The aim of the days was to educate aware and active citizens and raise awareness among the participating classes about the theme of solidarity.
Here are some testimonials:
Elisa:
“Showing our role and daily tasks within the association to the second and third graders of the Giosuè Carducci Middle School in Carrara was very rewarding and inspiring for me.
This day gave us the opportunity to raise awareness of a very important topic: volunteering, which is useful not only for those receiving care and support, but also for those, like us, who practice it through play, listening, and smiling, and in return receive gratification and a sense of belonging.
Talking about it with the kids and planting the seed of one of the pillars of solidarity is, I believe, essential to raising generations capable of developing high emotional intelligence, fostering inclusion, and contributing to the improvement of society by making a difference in the lives of others, even on a human level.”
Marcella:
“These were truly lively and full mornings; we had the opportunity to meet so many kids who were truly interested. We thank the teachers who organized these days and who gave us the opportunity to participate.”
We’re happy to share our experience of community life and share what welcoming and sharing mean to us.
